Good morning from Stockmarketrevolution.com!
Markets are trading higher today, both in the United States and Europe. Traders seem to be celebrating Joe Biden’s inauguration as US President. Joseph R. Biden Jr. will be sworn in as president of the US around 12 p.m:
In my opinion, most traders will be carefully watching the new President. If he says something about the new $1.9 trillion stimulus, I would expect the USD to fall as compared to EUR, CHF, AUD, JPY, and CAD.
Also, remember that Biden is expected to be extremely beneficial for the electric vehicle industry. If he says anything related to the electric vehicle or climate change, traders would most likely push the EV stocks up. Most traders out there would buy NIO ($NIO), Tesla ($TSLA), Workhorse Group Inc. ($WKHS), NIU ($NIU), or Blink Charging Co. ($BLNK).

Today, Alcoa ($AA), Morgan Stanley ($MS) and United Airlines ($UAL) are expected to deliver results. I will be watching closely the AA’s earnings. Market participants are expecting $0.11 earnings per share. In my opinion, given the recent increase in the price of aluminium, the company may surprise with better results than expected.
Investors will also carefully study the results of Morgan Stanley. I would not expect better than expected results. However, with the company buying back its own shares and interest rates expectations a bit higher, Morgan Stanley will most likely receive a lot of attention.
Below, there is a list of companies that will deliver results today:
